Take the 2nd stage E’way north to Chaeng Wattana Road.
Head West towards Pakkred.
3.5km from the E’way take the ramp up to the Rama 4 Bridge.
After crossing the bridge immediately filter left, then right U turn under the khlong bridge.
Head back towards the river.
After about 1km, just before the river, turn left at the telephone kiosk.
300m, turn right into car park opposite Wat Toey.

Theme: The Dragon-Haggis, or anything vaguely supporting Sino-Scottish Nationalism. (even wearing a Johnny Walker Red Label will do. If you are female, CD or TS, you could be a Tart-in-Kilt!).

As it is ‘Sweetie’ Fred’s Birthday, (which always falls on the birthday of that Rabid Scotsman, Robert Burns), in co-incidence Astrologically and Sidereally, with Chinese New Year, (The Year of the Dragon), to Honour and Celebrate the occasion, please wear a token of your support. There will be a run, there will be a Drink’n'snack stop, there will be on-on at the ใบไม้ร่าเริง (Bai Mai Ra Rerng) restaurant.

From Rama IV road, turn onto the Pechaburi / Ratchadaphisek road, go past the Queen Sirikit Conference Center and the park with the Lake. Just beyond is a pedestrian bridge, go under this and turn immediately left into the “ ใบไม้ร่าเริง (Bai Mai Ra Rerng) ”(Mastercard sign) restaurant. Parking and circlewill be under the restaurant. The Restaurant is about 400 metres before the Sukhumvit/Asoke Junction. If you are walking or are using the BTS or MRT to Sukhumvit / Asoke, use exit for Queen Sirikit Center and walk the 400 metres to the restaurant, away from Asoke junction. (Right hand side, just before the pedestrian bridge).

Sweeties

By public transport
Take BTS to Chong Nonsi station.  Go out the turnstiles in the direction of exits 1 or 2 but do not go down to street level.
Cross the fancy pedestrian bridge (across Sathorn Road) and take the BRT (yellow bus – 10 Baht) to stop at Thanon Chan.
Get off the bus, go to the west side of Naradiwas-Rajanagarinda Road (LH Villa will be at the bottom of the steps).
Walk south (away from Sathorn) on Naradiwas, about 200 meters, until you get to the intersection of Rachadapisek and Naradiwas Roads.
Run will start from the parking lot on the right side.

Driving From Sathorn (heavy traffic, expect delays at 5pm)…
Turn left into Naradiwas-Rajanagarinda Road.
Go past Makro (on the right), straight across Chan Road traffic light intersection.
Turn right at the intersection of Rachadapisek and stay in the left lanes following signs to Sathu Pradit and then to Central Plaza Rama 3.
When the surface street splits after the Central Plaza Rama 3 sign, go to the right side of the split and get into the right lane looking for the U turn to go to Central.
After the U turn, drive past Central and get into the left lane.
Turn left into a parking lot about 50 meters before the Naradiwas-Ratchada intersection.

Those who know the area…
Go past Central Plaza Rama 3 on your left staying in left lane.
Turn left into parking lot about 50 metres before Naradiwas-Ratchada intersection.

From Sathon Road.
Get on Ratchapreuk Road heading north (directions).
Go over two flyovers and a klong bridge.
Just after the 9km road marker turn left into Tanon Wat Intrawat (there is a yellow crane on the right).
Follow this road for about 1.3km and park opposite Wat Pradu in Intrawat Soi 23.

From the North

Head south on Ratchapreuk Road.
When the km markers descend to 8.8 km take the Pran Nok exit.
Continue straight and make a U-turn under the flyover.
Cross the klong bridge (you are heading north now).
Just after the 9km road marker turn left into Tanon Wat Intrawat (there is a yellow crane on the right).
Follow this road for about 1.3km and park opposite Wat Pradu in Intrawat Soi 23.

Go over the Rama 9 Bridge and take the first exit onto Suksawat Road (you have to turn left).
Zero your odometer and drive about 1km until you see the Industrial Ring Road going across Suksawat.
Turn left signposted Rama III and stay in the left lane of Phrarachveriyaporn road.
At 2.1 km at the T junction turn left.
At 2.3 km turn right at the T-junction (in front of a wat archway), and after another 200m follow the road round to the right.
At 2.8 km keep left into Throngtham Road.
At 3.6 km turn left onto Petchaheung Road.
Continue past the park area under the Industrial Ring bridge and go over a klong bridge.
At 5.5 km turn right under a wat archway into Soi Wat Chak Daeng (a.k.a. Soi 10).
100m into the soi turn left and drive to the end following the road into an unused park.

Via the Industrial Ring Road Bridge.

Take the Industrial Ring Road Bridge from Rama 3 Road.
Take the first exit off the bridge following signs for Suksawat Road.
Follow the off ramp and keep left, making U turn at the sign for Prapradaeng. Zero odometer at the U turn.
Stay in the left lane for Phrarachveriyaporn road.
At 1.1km at the T-junction turn left.
At 1.3 km turn right at the T-junction (in front of wat archway).
At 1.8 km turn left.

At 2.6 km turn left again. You are now on Petchahung road.
At 4.5 km turn right under a wat archway into Soi Wat Chak Daeng (a.k.a. Soi 10).
100m into the soi turn left and drive to the end following the road into an unused park.

Take the second stage expressway towards Chaeng Wattana.
After the 10 baht toll take the first Ngam Wong Wan  exit.
Make a U Turn to the left before Ngam Wong Wan Road (HHH).
Drive back 0.7 km to T junction.
Turn right, go 0.9 km  and park on the  left (HHH)

After arriving at Sam Yan subway station take the escalator to the exit where you feed your token into the gate-opener and leave the station by the escalator at your front-left.

This takes you to the intersection of Rama 4 Rd. and Siphya Rd. Take a taxi onto Siphya Rd.to the traffic lights at Sub Rd., a distance of approximately 200 meters, and turn left Sub Rd.  Past the Russian Embassy on your right, and at the next set of traffic lights, turn right. At the next set of traffic lights, approximately 100 meters, notice the Plaza hotel on your right.

Take a right turn after the Plaza hotel and the AIG building – immediately after the traffic lights, and opposite Somboon Restaurant. (Note: the Peugeot sign has changed to Honda.)  The MERC Office is situated behind the AIG building, approximately 100 meters off Surawongse Rd.

By car or taxi
Go along Sukhumvit towards Bang Na.
At the Bang Na junction traffic lights turn right into San Phawut Road.
Drive towards the river for about 2 km and park at the  end of the road near the pier.

Using the Expressway
Go towards Chonburi and take the BITEC U-turn bridge.
Drive back towards Bangkok. When you reach the Sukhumvit at Bang Na junction traffic lights, go straight across into San Phawut Rd.
Drive until the end and park.

By BTS
Exit at the west side at the Bang Na BTS station.
Take a taxi (going back towards Bangkok).
After about 400 metres turn left into San Phawut Road.

The hare will pay the ferry fees to cross the river as the run starts on the other side.
